Campfire Teepee in Carlsbad

Teepee at Campfire Restaurant in Carlsbad Village

Campfire is a newer (since September 2016) and rather popular restaurant in Carlsbad Village near the heart of downtown. It joins a list of recent new eateries that have opened in the last year. The food is creative, with a focus on wood-fire grilled offerings and inventive renditions of things you might expect around a campfire...like S'mores.

And for kids, there's even a Teepee where they can play. Adults, too, I suppose if the mood strikes you.

Hi Jeff... I'm glad the teepee is only for playing. For a minute I thought the place was a series of teepess where everyone sat on the floor and ate.

Sounds an intertesting restaurant, is the food supposed to be Native American or this is just a marketing twist?

HI Jeff Dowler - It sounds like Campfire Teepee is creating their own little niche market.  I can just see kids cajoling and pleading with parents to take them there!

Hannah Williams  - that's just a dessert option. The food is really wonderful and creative!

Nope, they have a great bar to sit, at and tables inside and our, plus an open kitchen you can watch - it's a pretty cool place Nina Hollander

Nick & Trudy Vandekar  - No just creative food that can be fixed over a fire - fish, beef, chicken, pork, vegetables and fruit. The theme is a campfire, so there are some firepits outside, and I suppose the Teepee was just an idea stemming from camping.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE®  - I would guess it can be popular, although when we walked by on several occasions no kids were playing. While they have a few food items that might work for kids, it's not exactly that type of place.

People seem to like this place pretty well - it's always busy for lunch and dinner, and reservations are pretty essential on the weekends Grant Schneider

I love these creative places, and many do a great job with their food niche, too.  Thanks for posting about a good looking new place in your neck of the woods.

And here I'm thinking that they cook the food but you have to eat it outside in the shelter of the Tee-Pee

Judging by how busy it tends to be both for lunch and dinner I'd say they are pretty successful and the food works well for many!

What a cool place, Jeff.  Wood fire restaurants always seem to have the BEST dishes!  And, a teepee for the kids to play in to boot!
