Sending your client a sample report from another home was a great idea.  I think home inspections are so important.  It really bothers me when a client wants to save a couple of hundred dollars and not get one.

That was a terrific solution to quiet the complaining. I can't imagine an inspection with only one issue such as you described. I haven't - yet - had anyone gripe about the cost of an inspection.

Some people you can never satisfy, it is like insurance you pay for it every year but you don't really want to use it. Maybe he makes a claim every year to get his money's worth. 

A clean home inspection is a dream come true.  It is rare to find on even on new construction homes.  I am glad your client sees the light now. 

Karen- you could have shown her one of our past inspection reports..the size of a small town phone book!

Home inspections are so important.  They felt cheated instead of relieved.. I'm sure they felt better after reading a different inspection and seeing how lucky they were.  

Karen, I had an inspection like yours and the Buyer called. He stated that was an expensive Home Inspection, and he could turn on the dishwasher himself. I explained, You could have saved a lot by not getting a Home inspection, but Not knowing what you have will keep you up at night, think of it as "INSURANCE" you protected your Investment on your Beautiful New Home.

I guess you could make the same statement:.... I didn't fall off the trapeze... what a waste it was to set up that safety net...

or, I didn't have an accident all year, what a waste of money my auto insurance was...

the fact that you didn't have to use it, doesn't mean that the policy was a waste of money...
