3 Trusted brands...Why?

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Full Circle Property Management

WIth permission-HBR3 Brands to Trust and Why...what an interesting concept. So here goes...

Harvard-Is it a Brand? Or a college? I think its a brand because it is more than just a school for rich kids to go to, it has a plethora of business applictions. It's industry information and publications and insights get into marketing and building your business. To be successful you need to get outside of real estate specific education and into true learning. Need clients, employees, setting up a team? Look into the psychology of it, not just what your gut tells you or what you saw someone else do. So its not just a college, its a brand that is well known, business specific, and a great place to increase your knowledge about how business should run. It's a reference source with seminars, webinars, and publications.

Nissan Motors....why? Because I can't afford for my car to break down. I have had them for years, its moderately priced, looks good, and best thing-it runs everyday. I wish all my products worked as well as my Nissan and when it was time for a new one I didn't even look at competitors. Why take a chance on an unknown?

Last, but not least, Holiday Inn Express. I used to travel, a lot, and I always looked for a Holiday Inn Express. Why? I knew what I was getting, what it was going to look like, what was included. I did not want to take a chance of being in a new city and not knowing what the hotel was like. Traveling was stress enough without an adventure at night. Added bonus-as a "club member" they recognized me with a cookie, paper, and water bottle-perfect.

So thats my choices-I have others, but these are 3 I recommend highly!

Hi Dennis

I agree - Harvard IS more than just a school, it IS a brand known throughout the world.  Nissan seems to have a pretty good reputation and people I know who have these cars love them.

Great selection of your 3 trusted brands and why, @Dennis!  My father-in-law attended Harvard and we get their publications on a regular basis and I'm always intrigued by some of their articles and always manage to learn a thing or two from them as well.

Dennis,

Great choices of brands and we thank you for your participation in our March Challenge.  We subscribe to the Harvard business blog, and both of my parents have taken management courses there in their business careers.

Nissan cars are famous for their longevity, and I am glad they have served you well.  Like you we travel to meet our clients, and we have not been to a Holiday Inn Express.  We will have to check it out.

I enjoyed reading your post...Have a great weekend.  A

Hi Dennis... as someone who attended the Harvard Business School I say it's both a brand and a school. As for Nissan... never drove an actual Nissan, but did drive Infinitis for years and I agree on the realiability of the product.

Dennis- I agree, when I'm traveling I want to know that where I stay will be a place I can count on!   I've only stayed in one a few times but each time the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the service was what you would want.

Dennis - Harvard does have an excellent brand for business.  As for hotels we typically stay at Mariott's now because we know what too expect and it's always pleasant and very clean.
