Being asked to speak at the Speakers Retreat was awesome. Having a published book for the Finest Women in Real Estate has given me the opportunity to break into public speaking and talk about Personal Branding. Meeting so many professional speakers was overwhelming but it was great to also see that I was able to collaborate with many great business professionals. Some of them actually attended our FIRE UP Live event last March 1st. They are now going to participate in our next live event in August.
Half an hour before I had to speak, I was figuring out what to say. Others had prepared days before the event. One friend suggested that I just think of 3 stories to tell that that relate to my topic. I was talking to myself doubting every second of what I had to do, but then I know in my heart that in God's eyes... I am perfect. So I took the stage, gave my speech. People responded well; their laughs and smile told me they enjoyed it. Later after the talks were complete, many attendees talked to me to express their feelings about my speech - they loved it! They were pleased by what they heard. Some said it was refreshing... I was pleased that they found value in my message. God knows when to put you in a place where he needs you to be. This was a great experience for me and the more I open up myself to this type of role, the better I will become.
