We’ve all heard how important it is to create emotional connections with buyers when your selling your home. But what exactly are they and how can you create your own without looking stagy? Most of us are visual creatures so my hope is that by using photos along with our tips and sources, you too can accomplish those so important emotional connections yourself.
Coffee Tables
You can't go wrong with white Orchids (a great source is HomeGoods - inexpensive, but great quality) and coffee table books, which we purchase on Amazon because you can't beat their prices. Type in the keys words "interior design coffee table books" and you'll find hundreds. The overall look is organic and elegant....
We love using mirrored trays (the one on the left is from ZGallerie, but you can find them at HomeGoods for less money). The rocking bird came from West Elm - we use them all time for a little whimsy. You can also do grouping of 3 vases like in the second photo. While they can all be different, just make sure the overall look is cohesive...
You can't go wrong with candles - grouping of 3 really work well (see left photo). Mercury glass never goes out of style and always adds a little glamor...
Kitchens:
Removing everything from counter tops no longer applies and for good reason. The accessories (when done right) illicit feeling of family dinners and "home". We love using fruit (Pier One is a great source - they look so real) and putting them in wood bowls we find at HomeGoods. Bottled water in trays and cookbooks also look great. It's a more organic look than stagy vignettes so often found in staged homes.
Bathrooms
We love using coral and apothecary jars filled with soaps, cotton balls and bath salts. HomeGoods sells the same ones as Pottery Barn at a fraction of the price...
White rolled towels always look great and give your bathroom a spa like feel. Again, HomeGoods is a great source. You can put them on the counter or in baskets by the tub...
