It’s hard to find this unique combination of a great horse environment and proximity to a sophisticated town (just an hour from an international airport, too!). That is what we’ve got in Boulder.
You can find beautiful equestrian properties, often with sublime mountain views and rushing waters, no more than 30 minutes from downtown Boulder. Whether you’re moving here for the first time, or moving within the area, you’ll find a thoughtful, active and welcoming horse community ready to embrace and stimulate you!
To an outsider, this might seem unlikely, but the 'horse community' pervades the area, taking advantage not only of rivers like the St Vrain to green paddocks, but also of the miles of open, accessible land right up to the foothills of the Rockies. It has attracted great retailers like the Saddle Up Western Saddle and Tack Shop in Longmont and also guys like Jim Heckert, a farrier originally from Pennsylvania who I met at my yoga class!
I support the Boulder County Horse Association, an extremely active local group which hosts events, provides great information and tips, and generally keeps the local community connected.
There's a wide variety of horse properties in and around Boulder County, from grand equestrian estates with Olympic-sized facilities to half-acre pastures with a corral and a hosepipe! Please take a look at our dedicated equestrian property page, and let me know which one looks really great!
