There are 15 lighthouses in the state of Rhode Island with the earliest being erected in the mid- 1700's.  They are the stalwart in their beacon of light to all fishermen and boaters alike.  Many have been saved by these lighthouses over the centuries and have always been a welcoming homecoming sight.  It is another reason why I love my state and its wealth of ocean beauty.
