The life section on the Ba-gua map that taps into the discussion and energy of gratitude is located in the 'Helpful People' area. This is a very powerful life section that many tend to ignore as they wish to solely focus on love, wealth, health and career. You need all 9 life sections nurtured and fueled, not just the 4 mentioned above.
I invite you to go a bit further in recognizing the power of gratitude.

How could you practice gratitude? Make it part of your lifestyle. Do not wait for New Years, Thanksgiving or when you find yourself in a challenging situation. Upon waking up, allow those thoughts of thanks, appreciation and love to fill your heart and mind. For example, think of what you already have. A home that provides shelter, a functioning body, freedom to create, that fact that you can experience life here on earth, your companionship with your pet (if you have one), socializing with family and friends, etc.
For each person the thoughts and feelings associated with gratitude will be unique to you.
If you wish to bring practicing gratitude to that next level, I invite you to think about one person in your life that has really assisted in the transformation process to a better you. If they are still alive and you have kept in contact with them, perhaps arrange a meet up. Or you could write a letter or send an email. If that person is deceased, being very intentional in thinking about them and how they helped is another way acknowledge that connection.
I have kept in contact with my high school art teacher since graduating in 2002. I didn't tell her right away how she helped me because I was unsure on how to articulate it. Well this year in 2017 I understood her role and could better share with her. She is a teacher who is honest, trusting, connected, respectful, assertive, funny, dedicated and real with her students. And because of that it lead to our friendship gradually growing and in this year that connection has come full circle. How so? Later in the month of March the student will become the teacher. I have the honor of educating my former art teacher and 15 art department teachers in the same school district on how to Feng Shui their classroom to offer a stronger environment for learning and connecting with their students.
