Jim I'm smiling ear to ear on this post! You crack me up - love it! I'll have to give it some very serious thought (haha) as to what song is appropiate for right now. I'm with Endre Barath, Jr. we should do a contest with this idea - fun!

I totally agree with Endre Barath, Jr. - you should do a contest with this! Have Debbie Reynolds approve it and you can host it! I think you'll get some great responses! As for my song, based on your list, money and rose-colored glasses would be a tough choice for me! ;-)

I agree with Endre Barath, Jr. this would be a great contest.... too fun!!
I would have to really think about this to pinpoint one song... loved your different choices for silence .. never forget sometimes Silence is Golden
Endre Barath, Jr.

Debra Leisek One of my favorite sayings "Silence is Golden, but duct tape is Silver". I think I need to figure out how to make that an emoji!
Jim Paulson - I remember the one I liked - and had blogged about it.
A song from Bollywood flick - 'Chale Chalo' (Keep Moving).

Praful Thakkar I was able to find two cool references to it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQmHKl3oNu0
Since I don't speak the language, I had to find the translation and love one of the lyrics "may victory be ours and defeat be theirs".
Now if someone would blend the two together ;)
Endre Barath, Jr. - I think there was a contest for this a while ago - and if I remember correctly, it was hosted by Carla Muss-Jacobs, Principal Broker (503) 810-7192.

Nick & Trudy Vandekar That is a great choice as well. That is one of the songs I played at my father's memorial service.

Fern Hamberger in about 2007, I was listing some properties for one of the developers I have worked for and he asked me if I gambled in Real Estate? He said "If you could take your last bet off the table, would you?" He was more in tune with the market than I was!
This is great - Years ago, when the recession hit and the market was in the dumper I needed a ring tone that made me not dread the phone ringing, because it rarely meant good news back in that period, so I chose Bobby McFerrins "Dont Worry Be Happy" as my ring tone, and I would have to say that would be my song, it still rings true today, Although some days are like Yello's "Oh Yeah"
Roy Kelley
Gaithersburg, MD
John Marshall - FORE! Speaking of ring tones, I thought about creating this one quite often: I'm surrounded by idiots (Lion King) I would have paid someone pretty well to retrofit that into Staple's Easy Button. I had never seen the video for Oh Yeah - it was fun! Thanks.
Feeling stronger everyday and I can see clearly now.... or Happy.

Andrew Mooers I enjoyed Pharrell Williams - Happy a lot. Remember when everyone was doing their own video's to it? More American's need to realize how important and precious our freedom of speach really is. For example, in Iran, they arrested people for producing their version of this video.
Iranian's arrested for producing and singing Pharell's "Happy"
For me it would be Van Morrison's Into The Mystic because I love to dream.

Gary L. Waters, Broker Owner, Waters Realty of Brevard, LLC This one should get the timely song or the year award with all the states legalizing Marijuana. Bob Marley - Don't worry be Happy
The lyrics are also very appropriate "The landlord says your rent is late, you might have to litigate, don't worry, be happy" LOL
Since we often have very little control over our destinies and futures... how about Fleetwood Mac's "Oh Well".
Roy Kelley
Gaithersburg, MD
Alan May Also love their lyrics. "Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answers you might want me to" I always felt, it you asked a question, that you should listen to the answer, which is why I comment on many people's comments to my blogs.
I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin.

Sharon Tara well played! Great selection for a home stager! I also think this song by Freddie Mercury (Queen) and David Bowie fits in for many of us some days Queen & David Bowie - Under Pressure (Classic Queen Mix) May they both be resting in peace.
"Money" as sung by the Fab Four Beatles back in the day. Complete with screaming Beatlemanias in the background. Just because it's fun to watch.

Kathleen Daniels I can tell that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. As I get older, I can relate to "A sadder man but wiser now"
this is the version I grew up with.... Peter, Paul and what's-her-name followed up with a more "commercial" version later.
Thanks to everyone that read and played along. I enjoyed my morning pulling up songs and listening to the lyrics instead of just the music.
Many years ago, at a national real estate franchise conference, we had a talent contest. One of the people did a phenomenal job lip syncing to Garth Brooks- Friends In Low Places He had an easel with his real estate sign on it. As he went in the stanza's of "Friends in Low Places", he would peel it back to reveal another franchise sign, then another, and another. It was brilliant and he won.
I have never thought about having a real estate theme song.
Many years ago, I named a community Camelot when that musical was popular. The marketing was successful.
Jim Paulson

Roy Kelley Pleasant images come to mind living in Camelot. Did you name all the cul-de-sacs after the nights in King Aurthor's court? LOL
With my respects to Bowie I think The Man Who Sold the World, or at least the Valley, would be my favorite theme song!
Jim Paulson

Peter Davies my brain is trying to imagine the potential comission for selling the entire World! Here is David Bowie sings 'Imagine' - a tribute to John Lennon
I guess your comment to my post had you thinking and a new post arrived! LOVE IT! For now.

The first song that came was Stuck in the Middle with you.

Dan Tabit I see the real estate world is similar in Sammamish as it is in Boise. Love it! Stealers Wheels - Stuck In The Middle With You - Offical Video + Lyics
BTW, I have a brother that used to live in Sammamish who used to be licensed. He found it was much easier to be the Systems Admin at UW where he could rewrite code if things didn't work.
Dear Jim,
Cute idea. I am on the other coast, but "City of Stars" from LaLaLand keeps rattling around in my head. Maybe there are a few cities of stars around here too.
I haven't seen the movie but I know a few of my peers that are in La La Land with their heads in the clouds.
Not for myself, but another theme song could be "Song Sung Blue" or "Rainy Days & Mondays Always Get Me Down". But I'm an optimist, so I like "What a Wonderful World".
Jim Paulson
Boise, ID
April Swenson I choose optimism too so here is Louis Armstrong: What a wonderful world
"Worth It" by Fifth Harmony!
Well, only some of the lyrics apply: Baby, I'm worth it! The rest of the song is silly hip/pop nonsense. Still, I like the message of the song. Hire me, cause baby I'm worth it!
Jim Paulson
Boise, ID
Kathryn Acciari I bet you are worth it! I was shocked when I pulled up this video Fifth Harmony - Worth It ft. Kid Ink and say that it has 1.3 BILLION views!
I don't think it's my real estate theme song. But my song for today is Keep Your Head to the Sky. I especially like Earth Wind & Fire's accapella at the end: Keep Your Head to the Sky by Earth Wind & Fire
Jim Paulson
Boise, ID
Cheryl Dukes - Atlanta you just brought back memories from my high school prom and it's theme song Earth, Wind & Fire - Fantasy
With new agents always coming into the business, with dreams of controlling their own schedule when in fact they will be like Pinocchio with Geppetto pulling the strings, this might be a good theme song too.
I like for my theme song: Home by Phillip Phillip
Jim Paulson
Boise, ID
John Wiley "Just know you’re not alone 'Cause I’m going to make this place your home". Great theme song! Phillip Phillips - Home
This was a clever blog to read here at the end of the day before I tackle dinner. I used to be a DJ so was trying to think of what songs I would pick! There are so many, depending on the mood and situation, as you mentioned.
