Rockwall is unique in many ways!
One unique character is most cities in Texas are named after a person but Rockwall is named after a narrow row of hard mineral stones that appear to be stacked on top of one another, forming what looks like a "Rock Wall". I went to highschool in Rockwall and I never saw this wall but I have heard it is on private land. The city tried to pass a bond program to purchase the land, excavating the wall and preserving it but the bond program failed.
Other ways Rockwall is unique is it is the "smallest" county in Texas on one of the "bigger" lakes, Lake Ray Hubbard. Residents enjoy the Harbor area for movies, dining and boating.
It also has a unique revitalized downtown square with an assortment of dining and shopping! One of my favorite places is Charlies Street Tacos. The building used to be a saddle shop!
I went to highschool in Rockwall and the growth has been explosive. You won't be disappointed!
