SAN ANTONIO REAL ESTATE - Texas currently ranks second in the country for new residents coming in from out of state, according to the 2017 Texas Relocation Report from the Texas Association of Realtors.
People are moving to the San Antonio-New Braunfels area from the metropolitan Washington D.C. area, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Chicago. While Harris County was the number one county in Texas for new residents moving from out of state, Bexar County came in second. In 2016 almost 110,000 new residents moved to Texas from out of state.
The top industries attracting new residents to San Antonio include military, medical, and technology. We also enjoy have great weather and affordable housing here in our wonderful city of San Antonio.
The San Antonio Board of Realtors reports that although the median home price dropped from December’s $208,800 to $194,700, the cost is still a modest four percent increase from January of 2016. January’s average home price increased eight percent year-over-year to $242,622.
