Stepping back into the Rain, no Umbrella necessary - I needed to write something, anything, I desperately need to get back in the habit of writing here on Activerain. I have been checking in daily for almost 9 years now, and the past year has been extremely busy. But I need to find time.

So what better way than to just sit and write for a few minutes.

This past week I hit a major milestone as I broke through that elusive 500K point barrier, I had a lot of encouragement along the way, people telling me that once you hit 500K then you are FREE forever and ever of having to pay for being here. However, I always bit my lip, as I had been here since before there was ever a fee, I dabbled and commented and tried some self-promotion and quickly learned that that is not the way to make friends and influence people.

SO I stepped back and then got a nice prodding from the powers that be here on Activerain, they implemented a fee for anyone new to the forum or for anyone that had been on here that had not contributed. I was shocked, I thought, Damn! I have been here for 18 months and loved every minute, but was not contributing, I certainly did not want to pay, so I called AR and pleaded my case.

They saw that I had written a couple posts and had been regularly commenting and not tooting my own horn, so they cut me a deal, they said, "if you can contribute one good post a month, we will let you remain a Rainmaker, however if you start slacking, we will start charging", that was good enough for me and the message was clear- this is a place to contribute and to help one another, and this was the start of what I have really loved doing for the past 8 years, helping my fellow Realtors, real estate agents, newbies and veterans, to become even better at what they do.

I have been slacking here lately due to the opportunity I had to open a new brokerage and bring them to Colorado, in just 9 short months we have grown from 4 agents to 55 and we have several training sessions monthly, plus networking functions, overseeing a very productive group of agents and continuously looking to help others whenever I can, this is no excuse and I will be writing much more consistently. I have introduced AR to over 100 fellow agents, many who still dabble and some are thriving with the knowledge they have gained from fellow Rainmakers, Ambassadors and other contributors.

I think that if I had paid for this wonderful forum, I would be well over 2 million points and more than likely the top contributor in Colorado, apparently there were other plans for me here.
