Someone recently sent me a message that started "Hello, I don't need any help staging, I would like to choose pieces for dining and livingroom furniture only. Can you give me a ballpark price?"
I was confused. Why would this person be contacting a home stager if she didn't need any help staging? It would be like someone saying to a real estate agent, "I don't need any help selling my house, I just need you to put your sign in my yard."
I was curious and wanted to know what she wanted from me.
So I replied, and got another message back; "I'm reaching out because it's annoying setting up my furniture that we use to stage our flips." No kidding--that's why people hire me to do it. Not only is it a lot of work, it's also nearly impossible to find a furniture company in our region that will do short-term rentals, so good luck with that. I have a special arrangement with a local rental company that I do business with on a regular basis. If you just want furniture, you're going to probably need to hire a professional home stager.
I sent her my vacant staging pricing, quickly explained the process, and invited her to contact me when she's ready to proceed. Hopefully she will realize that the service I provide is indeed valuable, and she will agree that she does need help staging after all!
Bonus: That photo is of me looking confused. Try to guess what I was looking at in the comments.
