Wordless Wednesday - Hairy Chestnuts

Good morning Joanna. I think this is cool. Clearly you saw different things in Japan.
This picture had me look twice. ![]()

Good morning, Joanna -- I can only imagine what our mutual friend Mr M would have to say about this headline and photos. In honor of his witty and occasionally offbeat observations, I'll refrain from additional comment.
Joanna,
Very intriguing, and this photo reminds me of urchins. Thank you for sharing these, I have not seen them before. A
Good afternoon Joanna,
Not the edible ones by the look!
Make yourself an astonishing day.
They remind me of my childhood. Our next door neighbor had a Chestnut tree on their property, and the limbs would often drop those things onto our yard.
Good evening all - Myrl Jeffcoat and Chris Ann Cleland and Raymond E. Camp and Ron and Alexandra Seigel and Sheila Anderson - I had never seen a hairy chestnut before and they did remind me of sea urchins-but they are in fact edible and apparently taste delicious. I just couldn't do it!

Hi there Brian England and Barbara Todaro and Paul Antonelli and Lynda White -I have never heard of a buckeye tree, sounds like something southern, but these were really crazy looking.

I love your comment Michael Jacobs - and yes, God only knows what Mr. M would have said about them?

Good morning Joana. Well now I've seen lot of chestnuts in my time but never one like those. Interesting
Good morning Joanna Cohlan ,
OMG..what a photo! I had to laugh at Michael Jacobs comments..his thought was the first thing that popped into mind! Mr. M would have had a field day with this one.

Those are a sight I have never seen. Chestnuts are not big in my area. I am so glad you shared this. Have a fine Thursday, Joanna.

Chestnuts, hairy or not are hard to find anymore, at least in this part of the world, right, Joanna? I recall, as a child in upstate NY trying to carve one. I still have a scar on my middle finger from that attempt. Funny that Michael Jacobs brought up Mr. M, as I was just thinking of him yesterday.
My Japanese friend, Hiromi, was just mentioning how beautifully Japan showcases things in their stores, markets, etc....made me think of you.
Hi there Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Real Estate - yes everything was incredibly beautiful, the Japanese are obsessed with the visual. Laying low right now, just had my shoulder surgery on Thursday so hard to type.

Been thinking about you! I had 3 people important in my life that had surgeries/medical procedures last week! You, my sister and my bestfriend. Here's to getting that beautiful smile back on your face once the pain subsides. Not an easy surgery for sure!
Hi Joanna - I did not even know there was such a thing. Very interesting.
