Adding a Little CSS Code to IDX Broker Makes it Pop!

Managing Real Estate Broker with Barrington Realty Company License: 471.000044

I hate being the same as everyone else. I have spent a lot of time and effort on my website including the colors matching to my company logo and there being continuity throughout the website. It's a never ending job but I do like delving into code and making the magic happen.

Today I spent a little time adding some extra css code to my IDX Broker account to make it pop.

First I added some simple text to every single property detail page via a sub header. So now every listing has my company name, my name and my cell phone number for people to call or text. Just in case they did not realise, I am the person to call.

Buttons to grab people by!

So often visitors come and go and never take action. I want them to take more action! So time to get in their face!!

Looking at the listing below I added some css code to the links I want them to use. These are now big, bold, in your face and direct a user to do something. I also color matched them to my website so it's all a smooth co-ordinated interface. Three big buttons and I would love them to save the properties, they need to sign up for an account.

Just in case you want to know what it looked like before!  Just above you can see some text that says Next property. Well they all looked like that! Lost, totally lost.IDX Broker CSS Code

Let's move down the details to the picture gallery. I did exactly the same with this link. Just like above it was a standard text link and I made it into a big red button with rounded corners and bolded the font which I increased a little in size too. No doubt where to go to find the photos eh?

I also increased the price size on the right and changed the color to match too.

I think I shall be adding more css code to my IDX Broker account this week. I like, no I love, how it's beginning to look! It looks like it is part of the website, all cohesive!

Showcase Widgets

Why Stop There! Exactly I thought. Actually I had changed the look of my widgets a long time ago but it also makes it look like they belong to my website and are not the same as everyone elses IDX Broker widgets.

I will continue to fine tune my IDX Broker css code, because I can. It's not for the newbies among you, learning css code is not something most Realtors do, it just happens to be something I can do. I can see several places I want to show better.

The cascade styled sheets go a long way. They have been around way way before internet.
