Daffodil Hill is Open For the Season

Real Estate Agent with GreatWest Realty DRE# 00827565

Daffodil Hill opened its gates for the season this last Friday, March 17th. Located in the heart of California Gold Country, Daffodil Hill is a crowd pleaser. To experience the explosion of yellow, visit this special spot in Amador County.

The 4 acre farm has been in the McLaughlin family since 1887.  During the past two decades, the family has planted 6,000 new bulbs each year, continuing the family tradition and legacy.  Over 300,000 bulbs are estimated to now populate the farm.

Parking and Admission is FREE.  However, donations are appreciated! Hours are 10:00 am - 4:00 pm each day, until seasons end, or significant weather change!

Available driving instructions state Daffodil Hill is anywhere from 39 to 50 miles from Sacramento.  There are several meandering routes, which will take you there.

From my home in the north-east part of Sacramento County, I travel highway 16 out of Sacramento, which journeys trough Sloughhouse.  I turn toward Amador City, and Sutter Creek on Highway 49.  And turn left on Church Street directly off highway 49 in Sutter Creek.

You can visit the Sutter Creek website page which provides more information on Daffodil Hill!

I take pictures for the purpose of remembering fond times.  I do not impose copyright restrictions on this photo, so you may feel free to use, or distribute as you wish.  However, should you need a Real Estate Professional in the Greater Sacramento area, I hope that you will contact me by email or by visiting my website www.myrljeffcoat.com - Thank You!

What a delightful idea for a day's journey, and with all the rain we have had, I am sure those daffodils have multiplied.  It is raining here today,  and I am enjoying the sound of it.  Have a great day.  A

Myrl Jeffcoat, what a wonderful post to share with us - even the name is special, Daffodil Hill.

Nice to know you got the necessary rain this year and they should be blooming like mad.  I did go to the link you gave. Very interesting, my good friend.

Myrl, I love Daffodils and when you go, will you choose a special daffodil for me, spend a moment or two in meditation and send it on a prayer or mantra to me.  Thank you.

When I saw the photo in the Sacramento Bee, I did think to myself that I bet Myrl will do another blog about Daffodil Hill. LOL. I hope all of our rain hasn't crushed them. They're pretty resilient.

That is so pretty, Myrl. We have a Daffodil Hill in our town and it is a private residence. I drove by there today and the daffodils are almost gone.

Myrl Jeffcoat - Daffodil Hill is so beautiful! There's a lot of labor of love on that farm! Don't you just love it when somebody has an idea that is so big and wonderful and it comes to fruition and then shared with the world!
