Compared with the year to February's end in 2016, the 2017 New Castle County real estate market report for the year so far shows almost 15% less inventory than the previous year. Not only that, but the median sales price is down 2%.
The good news is that pending sales are up almost 20%, and new listings in February were up almost 5%. Buyers are out there, but they are not finding the houses they are looking for.
The moral of the story for sellers is--call your Realtor® and get your market analysis as well as an evaluation of any defects or repairs that need to be done. If the word is that your house looks great and is ready to go--there are buyers out there waiting for you to make a move!
