What Is Maryland Day All About?
The Short Version
Maryland Day is in celebration of the 1634 landing of the first European settlers on Maryland soil along the Potomac River. However it was not until 1903 that Maryland Day began it's official observance and done so by the Board of Education to honor Maryland history and help in the teachings of state and local history. By 1916 the government thought that sounds pretty darn good to have a Maryland Day so the General Assembly of Maryland made March 25th a legal State holiday.

And because they did I get to celebrate my home state each and every year on March 25th
Happy Maryland Day
