URGENT HELP REQUEST TO NAR PRESIDENT BROWN

By
Real Estate Agent with RESupermen at Niblock Co. Realtors 184520

DEAR PRESIDENT BROWN AND THE NAR LEADERSHIP TEAM

The San Antonio Board of Realtors is in a significant crisis.

The San Antonio Board is being shaken to its core by allegations, counter allegations,

innuendo, implications of retribution and bullying, unkind back room whispers,

nasty social media exchanges and the sad likelihood of a SABOR officer leadership

coup. I do not see anything positive about what is happening now at SABOR.

And there may be additional issues or occurrences of which I have no

knowledge which also might be developing or already ongoing? From my

perspective the situation is continuing to decline. In my 43 plus years of dedicated

service to the San Antonio Board I have never seen anything like this. And it

deeply disturbs me.

I have lost confidence in San Antonio Board staff under the leadership of CEO Angela Shields.

Why does it appear to me that she is at the center of this horrendous SABOR storm?

The whole situation from my view is completely out of control and out of hand. It

appears to me that this situation is "you are either with me you or you are against me."
I find that unacceptable and I challenge that view. I also expect from writing this letter

and expressing my concerns and beliefs that I will not go unscathed. But this is too

important to remain silent. I firmly believe that writing this letter to you is the right thing to do

because SABOR needs an advocate for its members. It is the San Antonio Board of Realtors not

the San Antonio Board of staff.

The situation is dire. Lawyers have been hired and lawsuits seem a very real possibility.

I believe the San Antonio Board needs your leadership, counsel, advice, concern, influence,

and intervention to stop this war of destruction at our board. Please help our board in its hour

of need. As a past participant in the NAR mediation course I might suggest that mediation

might be one potential way to start. I do not understand why mediation has been apparently

skipped over and the issue has gone straight to the removal process?

A meeting is scheduled on April 5th at 9 am at the San Antonio Board and I request your

attendence. This is a meeting to remove both SABOR's Chair and Chair Elect. I know of no

legitimate reason for either one of these individuals to be removed in this bizarre, unprecendented

act that appears to violate fairness and due process.

You are needed at this meeting.  But whatever your specific response something needs to

be done. And it needs to be done AS SOON AS POSSIBLE for the good of the entire San Antonio

Board of Realtors membership.

Again, please help the San Antonio Board.

Sincerely Yours,

A plea for NAR’s help

In an ActiveRain blog post Monday, SABOR member Clark Niblock penned an “urgent” — and dramatic — request for help from NAR’s leadership team.

“The San Antonio Board of Realtors is in a significant crisis,” he wrote.

“The San Antonio Board is being shaken to its core by allegations, counter allegations, innuendo, implications of retribution and bullying, unkind back room whispers, nasty social media exchanges and the sad likelihood of a SABOR officer leadership coup.”

“The situation is dire. Lawyers have been hired and lawsuits seem a very real possibility,” he added.

Niblock said he had “lost confidence” in SABOR’s staff under Shields’ leadership and wondered why the situation did not go to mediation before initiating a removal process.

He requested that NAR attend the April 5 meeting and offer its “leadership, counsel, advice, concern, influence, and intervention to stop this war of destruction at our board.”

“I know of no legitimate reason for either one of these individuals to be removed in this bizarre, unprecedented act that appears to violate fairness and due process,” Niblock added.

For her part, Shields responded, “[Niblock] is one of 10,000 some-odd members and he’s writing his opinion. I imagine we’re going to see opinions from both sides as this goes forward, so that’s basically all I would say about that.”

Everything should be transparent; if they have nothing to hide why not present it?

I have experienced this in Oklahoma City and it is not good for the memebership not the public image. Sounds like outside help is needed.
