Pondering Peace, Movie Marathon at Franciscans Downtown
Last year the Stevens Point Catholic Deanery participated in the Mercy Marathon hosting a number of activities for area people to participate in. Franciscans Downtown held their Mercy Marathon of movies – that had a theme of mercy.
This year the theme for this 24 hours for the Lord is Pondering Peace. On Friday March 24, and Saturday March 25, Franciscans Downtown, once again held a movie marathon. This time the theme of the movies was peace. The movies were open free to the public. After watching each movie, a discussion was held to reflect what the audience perceived as the theme to each movie. Some of the movies in this year’s line-up were: 42 The Jackie Robinson Story; Finding Forester; Chariots of Fire; Still Alice; and the Help. As you can see from a selection of movies as this – there would be a lively discussion on how peace was found in each story.
The days were well attended as the movies, popcorn and other refreshments were enjoyed by many.
