We all have routines. These are those little chores we do every day that keep us focused and on track. Some people have long lists everyday that they follow and studiously mark off each item as it is done. Others are more of a "Seat-of-the-pants" person. Yet they still follow routines. I must confess I am more of a "To do list" follower than a "pants" person.
I feel as though my routines are going to be shaken up soon. The simple task of turning on my computer and getting to work will be turned upside down. Yes, that's right, I am preparing to buy a new laptop.
It is a love/Hate relationship I have with my laptop. I love how fast a new computer runs. I love the cleanliness of the hard drives. The crispness of the new 17" screen. What I hate is setting it up. Ugh. Hours of getting software installed in the right way, getting new drivers to work with printers, and setting all the various selections that make your computer run the way you want it to.
In a way, its like buying a home. (Yes, I can make most any topic relate to Real Estate!) Buyers decide to leave a home they have lived in for years. One that they have managed over time to create the perfect home in. Now they are looking to change and up end their entire lives in order to find a new home.
With a new home comes figuring out where to put everything. Wondering if you will like your new neighbors. Searching for the correct garbage service provider. No wonder this is one of the most anxious times for people.
So, when you decide to go get that next computer, think about how you feel about the task and ramp it up a thousand fold. This is what your buyers are going through. It would do us agents well to remember the stress our clients are under going and do everything we can to keep the calm.
Now off to look at laptops.
