Unbelievable Week - 91 Dogs Adopted/PUSH List All Safe
Since Monday March 20, 2017, the Fort Bend County Animal Services Shelter in Rosenberg TX had 91 dogs adopted! Amazing number of adoptions in my mind. All of the PUSH (Pets Urgently Seeking (a) Home) were either adopted or rescued. Personally I was very concerned about these dogs who all had been at the shelter the longest period of time. As I had said I had personal contact with all of the pups on the list.
I want to tell everyone involved, including the staff, volunteers, local news media, SOCA FBC folks (501c3) and the adopters/rescuers, THANK YOU so much. What an amazing and unbelievable confluence of events which made this all possible. I was at the shelter for several hours on Saturday and I was blown away with all the folks who came out to find themselves a pet who will be their best friend forever when given the opportunity! I have already seen on the shelter Facebook page a few additional adoptions taking place today.
It is for times just like what happened this past week that I personally get so involved in this cause as it makes everything feel so worthwhile.
Below is a female pup who still needs to find her forever home. As soon as I walk into the room where her kennel is located she jumps at the the gate wanting me to pet her as she knows I am a her buddy. Her ID is A 10037 and she is listed as a staffordshire bull terrier and she is approximately 2 years old. Remember the breed and age are strictly guesses made by the staff. She is a very friendly and loving dog. Saturday found me spending some time petting her and she spending a lot of time giving me dog kisses. I thought I had gotten her adopted on Saturday but the folks chose a pup on the infamous PUSH list instead. My goal is to assist with getting this pup adopted ASAP as she deserves a loving family. Shelter life is very stressful for any dog or cat. She is way too skinny as I can easily feel her ribs.
