Remember why you fell in love with your community and then show the world! Here's how I would approach it platform by platform.
First - Facebook: I would switch the video on my phone to live record and become a journalist -
a. Tour a favorite place that not everyone knows about.
b. Interview some small business owner.
c. Ask some people on the street what they love about the area.
d. Go to the local Chamber of Commerce and interview them on business growth and what events are coming up.
e. Interview the local school principals and maybe catch some kids in the process.
Second - Twitter: I would find local articles to tweet and hashtag the location and tag the author of the article or the newspaper publication. (Here's a super secret trick that has helped my clients gain relocators. #Location AND #Realtor - so they know what you do when they see your tweet.)
Third - LinkedIn: Share local economic, real estate, and local real estate stats. Think local news!
Fourth - Instagram: Take LOTS of photos and share them in different ways. Make sure to use the same filter so that you are branding your platform. I have wished I had done this on my own and will be starting to now that I've formed a new brand. Also, you may share a video as long as it is under 1 minute.
Sixth,-Pinterest: I LOVE Pinterest because you can share so much that will position you as the one who knows your marketing area. Suggestions for boards:
- Small businesses in your town, village, or neighborhood.
- Local restaurants.
- Local churches, schools, chamber office, post office.
- Local events.
- Homes in the area.
- Local marketing stats.
- Local family fun.
You can also do the boards that show the personal side of you outside of real estate. Just make it so that when someone is searching your area that you come up and when they are drawn to your platform they see that you have loads of information for them. This will draw them to your BLOG where I know you know what you are going to talk about there. ;-)
Hope this helps!
