The Three Brands I Trust in Katy TX
Our friends Ron and Alexandra Seigel created a challenge for March to write a post concerning the 3 brands which we trust. My picks for brands to trust already changed as the days in March passed on. I think like many of us the list is changing as time goes on.
My list might have a couple of surprises as some folks may say Really! My 3 brands I trust are as follows:
Brooks Athletic Shoes/ RoadRunner Sports - I use to be a runner but hip replacement surgery over 6 years ago ended my running days. I now use a treadmill for my cardio exercise. I use to hate using a treadmill for cardio exercise but one has to change as the situation dictates.
I have very flat feet and finding shoes of any kind and especially running/training shoes is difficult at best. I have tried numerous brands over the years including but not limited to Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Saucony, Asics, etc.. Lucky for me I found Road Runner Sports back in the 1990’s. This company is a sports apparel and shoes organization. I joined many years ago their VIP group of customers and have been very happy for all these years. VIP provides me with a discount on purchases I make plus superior service. Back in the day,one of their representatives turned me onto Brooks when I explained my foot problems. I have bought this brand ever since. Brooks running shoes fit my feet and do not cause fatigue and pain when I wear them like all the rest do. RoadRunner Sports has always given me top notch service plus being extremely friendly as well as helpful. You do not have to be a VIP member to get great service! I trust their expertise and advice. I usually order my shoes or apparel via the phone as I can ask questions of the helpful service representative. Returns are not a problem whatsoever. I listed both Brooks and RoadRunner Sports as I need both. I have found Brooks shoes on limited occasions in a very few stores and usually there are the low rated shoes being sold at high prices in retail outlets at least in this area.
2) Trader Joe’s (TJ’s) - A few years ago Trader Joe’s opened a store in Katy TX and we were excited. We had read about this chain in several sources and were so happy when this store opened in La Centerra in Cinco Ranch. I have certainly never been disappointed with their products and their wonderful customer service.
I actually enjoy going to TJ’s as there are no hassles or problems. The TJ’s staff are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and are just flat nice people to interact with. TJ’s products are excellent through all of their product lines. Unlike a few other competitors in the area shopping here is a pleasure. If I cannot find something I want to see or buy one of the employees will stop what they are doing and take me to where the item is located. Along the way were are engaged in a conversation. The pretender competitors employees point in a direction and mumble something unintelligible when asked for assistance!
I trust their products and the employees expertise and friendliness. Returns are absolutely no issue at all..
3) American Express (AE) - My first job when I graduated from college was working for Arthur Young which is now Ernst & Young as an Auditor. I had several out of town clients which required a fairly significant amount of travel to do the job. I got my American Express card almost immediately and have been happy with it ever since. In fact a few years ago, AE ran an advertising campaign involving celebrities who have had an AE card for several years. I checked their member since date when watching these commercials and I realized I have been a member for a lot longer than any of these supposed celebrities! I considered writing AE a letter but never took the time to do so. My thought was here is an average Joe with a AE card for all these years and this is why you also need to have a card.
Yolanda and I are platinum card holders and have been for several years. Customer Service when I call is always superior and not a drudgery like it is to call a VISA or Mastercard group. If I have a problem with a product or service AE will it make it right for me with limited paperwork and no hassles. In fact if I ever have a feeling there might be an issue with any vendor then I for sure will use my AE card. VISA and Mastercard not so much and especially their gift cards.
I realize of course some vendors and retail organizations will not accept a AE card as their fees are higher than the competition. No problem for me as we already have way too many credit cards. I trust both their service and backing me up when there is some sort of an issue.
My pictures are at the end as AR changes my line spacing, fonts and letter size when I cut and paste from Google documents.. (?)
