A Personal, Handwritten Note Sealed the Listing
Take a Few Minutes to Say Thank You
Take a Few Minutes to Say Thank You
A few days ago I had the opportunity to visit a property and talk with the owner about an upcoming move. I was told by the owner that she would be talking with another agent but knowing this did not dissuade me.
I gathered all the information I needed for the listing and asked questions that would help me in my marketing. I explained how I promote my listings and talked about blogging. The seller liked knowing I used social media to reach out and spread the word.
A couple of days later I followed up with more market figures and how I thought the property would compete in the marketplace. We talked time frame and I again asked for the listing. I was told she hadn't made up her mind yet.
The next day I sent a handwritten note card thanking her for the opportunity and expressing my desire to work for her. I used my personally designed note cards. In the note, I also stated that I was confident I could sell it within her time-frame and that we might even have a little fun while working together.
Today I got a call. The handwritten note had arrived and she called her daughter. Her daughter said that is what professionals do. Then the seller said that she had chosen me to list her home and that I could put it on the books.
Never forget the importance of taking a few minutes to write a personal, handwritten note.
