In our first part of this series, Living Near a MARTA Transit Station, we gave you some insight to the recent traffic/commuting mess that has occured with the fire under I-85 at Piedmont Road that has caused the closure of I-85, North and Southbound through Atlanta.
Yeah, think about that for a moment....a metropolitan area with some 6 million people, and one of the major interstates that passes through....closed....for the foreseeable future. Yikes!
So it prompted us to take a look at your living/housing options if in fact you decide that, "Hey, maybe I should be Living Near a MARTA Transit Station!" It certainly might make your commute much easier over the next few months, or years if you lived near a transit station. Now, we certainly understand, this is not a viable option for everyone. The cost of housing may be to high, or maybe a MARTA train does not really pass close enough to your office and you'd either have a LONG walk, or have to look for some other form of transportation to bridge you from the transit station to your place of work. But, it could be an option.
In Part 1, we focused on Midtown Atlanta, and the North Avenue, Midtown and Arts Center Stations that serve that area. In this part, we will look at options around the Lindbergh Center Transit Station.
Where IS the Lindbergh Center Transit Station?
Lindbergh Center is located on the Southern edge of Buckhead, off of Piedmont Road, between Lindbergh Drive and Sidney Marcus Blvd. This station was one of the first transit-oriented developments (TOD) that MARTA did around a transit station. It primarly contains office space for AT&T as well as the MARTA Headquarters is located here as well.
What Is At the Lindbergh Center Station?
With in the immediate area of the transit station you will find Eon and Uptown Square Apartments along with the aforementioned office buildings. Numerous great restaurants line Main Street, as well as Piedmont Road. They include, Five Guys Burgers, Taco Mac, Longhorn Steakhouse, Chili's, Wet Willie's, Infusion and just North of Main Street, Chick-fil-A.
Just a short walk to Sydney Marcus Blvd, and you will find a Waffle House, Smash Burger, Blimpie, Tin Drum Asian Cafe and an Arby's. Across from Lindbergh Center you will find a the Lindbergh Plaza which features a Home Depot, Target, Best Buy, Starbucks and other retail shops. And for when you DO need a car, a Quik Trip for gas! Just off of Morosogo Drive, a new Kroger is anchoring another development of apartments, and townhomes. The townhomes and single family homes are being built by David Weekly Homes, and are called Broadview Place.

What Kind of Homes are Around Lindbergh Center Station?
As we looked at living options, we tried to keep walkability in mind, and drew a mile (approx) square around the station. Most likely this we be the farthest anyone would consider walking to the station. So the homes you will find in the search link below, will be within that area of map shown here.
You will find several condominium communities within walking distance of the station, and others will be ouside of the area we noted above. And single family homes and townhomes are in the area as well.
We could easily miss a perfect home for you that might just be outside this "box." So, we can custom build a search for you based on what you may be looking for in a home or condo that is near the Lindbergh MARTA station.
