My biggest frustration is the countless solicitation calls I receive. Initially it was realtor web designers offering me to put my webpage on the internet first page. Lets face it. There are many more deep pocketed companies who put a lot advertising money on SEO, buying ads, Adsense etc. There are Z, Tru, Homes, Realtors and Craigslist that have a lot more organic power to blow the rest of realtors combined out of cyberspace.  Now I get more at dinner table, in the early mornings not much on the weekends.

The best feature iPhone offers is to "block" these annoying calls. I have about 20 numbers blocked. Whoever invented this feature I want to thank him and buy him lunch.

Apart from blocking them, I actually register online under 800 on-line annoying calls to inform others what they said and urge others to disregard these calls.

Like others, I also get this call from this Eastern Indian accent caller who tells me IRS is interested in meeting with me in New Dehli (just joking, it can be anywhere). Also an American woman impersonator voicemail-irs-imposter that a law-suit will be imminent. I need to contact a Washington DC number not a 800 number. My contact should be from Fresno, CA IRS offie not to a unlisted Washington DC scammer!

I learned to turn off my iPhone before going to to bed as one company will screaming at me with an Eddie Murphy tone from Louisiana before 8 AM PST. "Are you current with this report"? Heck, you just woke me up. You assigned it to me 12 hours ago yesterday afternoon. "This is what I do to remind you." No, this is harassment! "I want to talk to my supervisor about your attitude. "No, I want to talk to your VP.  In the end, they lose as I resent to be reminded So I gave it back to them later. They are not the only caller who wakes me up in the middle of night. Some will call me three hours earlier than from east coast(EST) as many do not know which way earth is rotating.

The most bothersome type is the call that starts with "Stop what you are doing right now and listen to this message:"  I  stop what I was doing by hanging up. These days I do not pick up calls from out of the area. Just my area code and there are a few numbers in Campbell and now Milpitas that allow out of the area solicitation calls pouring in. If it comes from Campbell I often wait for them to leave me a message to confirm it is really a valid call.

Credibility of a person- I can't coup with those who say one thing and then do opposite. If you tell me something, I assume you're going to be commit to it. A lady wanted to do a 1031 exchange in 2016. After hiring me submitting an offer to a difficult to win address like Cupertino she changed her mind. She had 45 days to find the house and it was already day 2.  She kept telling me she got a home for $90K in Austin, Texas  and hoping to steal a home in Cupertino school district. Just go to Austin. It was a waste of my time. In 2017 she called me last week that she was getting shafted by her new management she wants to find a cheaper brokerage to park her license. I spent 1 hour suggesting different places. At end she said she still does not know where to go and will thinkabout what I said.

Is it just me that has these problems? Am I spending too much time giving people guidance so they go see the property and strike a deal direct with another agent?   I need to refrain giving out these advice as I have just so much productive time left in a day.

Good morning Sam.  I, too, am very grateful for the call blocking feature of phones.  I hope that these types of scams will somehow be controlled better.

Good morning Sam Shueh ,

I absolutely love the block feature on my phone! It's the only way not to have your phone burning up with unwanted calls!

Good morning Sam. With the excceptions to being fined on the "do not call list" call blocking is more effective! Enjoy your day!

Sam, Those calls annoy me as well.  I decided to just start having fun with them.

As for giving away too much ... there is a delicate balance there. We can set ourselves up to be used.

Thank  you for participating in the contest.

Hi Sam,

We get the calls all the time on our cell phones.  Jean actually listens for a while, I'm usually not so nice.  As I was reading your post the office phone rang and sure enough it was an annoying recording.  Needless to say it was a short call.

We get those calls too.  So many of them.  I too have certain area codes that I don't answer because it's sure to be a solicitor.  Sadly, some day it could be an agent or prospective client, but I guess they will have to leave a message...-Kasey
