Being an "old" Realtor in today's market!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Century21 Northbay Alliance

Greetings: Living and selling real estate in the wine country has been an amazing ride for the past 40 years. I wrote my first contract on a home in Rohnert Park that was a one page double spaced Agreement. I sold it to an FBI agent and his wife and I was 22 years old; no lockbox, no computer, no fax machines and no disclosures. You presented all your offers to the sellers directly and you had to have someone let you in the property to show it. I wrote the offer on the hood of my brand new VW and it sold for $89,000 on the golf course; brand new! As each year passes, I find it has been best for me to stay on top of all things new and modern in this business by listening, attending seminars, socializing with other Realtors and above all, listening to and attending to everything the client wants or thinks they want! I knocked on literally thousands of doors over the years farming where most ALL of that is done by social media today and it's very competitive out there! But I've made many, many good friends along the way and can't believe how far we've come in this business. So now I'm a Broker, a Notary and a Certified Signing Agent to broaden my horizons and my business, to get out there daily and make new contacts. I took a fabulous class yesterday on using Facebook for garnering business and I'm implementing all that I learned! I've had a great life in this business....I wish you all good health, prosperity and great fun along the way!
