Bird watching at McKinley Museum 

The  Wm McKinley Presidential Library and Museum is celebrating International Migratory Bird Day Saturday May 10th, with bird watching and other activities.

  • A bird walk takes place at 9am
  • family activities take place from 11am to 3pm
  • All activities are free with museum admission

 

Stark Parks is sponsoring the annual Richard Fry Memorial Catfish Derby Saturday May 10th.

  • Large catfish are stocked into Petros Lake Park. j0399410
  • Children age 5-15 are encouraged to come out and fish 8-11am
  • Each time a child attends a derby, his/her name is entered into a draeing held at the end of the fishing season for a $500 Savings Bond donated by the Berkley Fishing Team.

The winner of the 2007 Savings Bond was Daniel Riggs, age 12, a student at Pfeiffer Middle School, son of Ron and Donna Riggs in Perry Twp.

 

Mother's Day Wild flower Walk - Saturday May 10th.

Meet a naturalist at Walborn Reservoir (Reeder Rd. parking lot) and learn to identify the beautiful spring wildflowers that are starting to bloom.

Ooh, a wildflower walk sounds like a wonderful way to get rid of the calories from Mother's Day meals!  Hope yours is terrific, Deborah.

It sure does.  It took me a while to figure stuff out, but everything worked except the nice picture I had of the father and son fishing.  Thanks Lisa, Enjoy and don't eat too much.
