What Makes You Special?

In the practice of real estate, competition runs high.  The number of licensees has risen sharply since recovering from the debacle created a few years back.  Lower interest rates have prompted many people to jump into the arena, and thankfully, many REALTORS® and real estate agents are making a comfortable living in their real estate careers.  Lead generation and marketing are probably the two most important responsibilities agents have in furthering their careers.  With that said, I must ask what makes you special?

 

The challenge of setting yourself apart from your competitors is faced daily.  To market yourself honestly and strategically takes wisdom and finesse.  To make you special, you must have something you do better than others.  For TEAM Hughes Real Estate School, it is, without a doubt, our Fast Track classes.  In Florida, we teach students how to get their real estate license in one week.  In Alabama, we teach students how to get their real estate license in two weeks.  We do this better than others, so it makes our school special.

 

Practicing real estate is not only enjoyable, it is also exciting.  If you can find out what makes you special, you can capitalize on it, refine it and enlarge it.  TEAM Hughes cannot do that for you.  This is something only you can do.  I have asked students what makes them special, only to be told they didn’t know.  My goodness, if you don’t know what makes you special, how will anyone else know what makes you special?

 

Ego can get in the way of many life applications, but when it comes to maintaining a successful real estate career, you’d better have some ego!  If you are not sure of yourself, consumers will feel that uncertainty.  You must be confident and you must carry yourself with that confidence.  What makes you special is your ability to work with people.  What makes you special is your tenacity at finding just the right properties for consumers.  What makes you special is your willingness to go the extra mile for your clients and customers.  What makes you special is the one thing that you can do better than anyone!  Discover that one thing, and you’re half-way to success!

It's definitely important to exhude some confidence. There are situations where I'm not confident, yet I explain my knowledge (and lack thereof) confidently and clients appreciate that. I don't think they want someone with all the answers; they want someone that can get all the answers. Have a great day!
