Work-Around for Adding Photos to ActiveRain

For those of you who have been experiencing the issue of not being able to upload photos for your posts, just know that the ActiveRain techs were hard at work on this issue and thankfully, have it resolved!

If you need it in the future, there is an easy work-around...

We all post our photos all over the internet - social media sites and our own websites. So, here's an easy-peasy way when you're unable to upload a photo, using the photo link from another site!

Here's how:

Fishing for the right words

As an example, I uploaded my Wordless Wednesday photo on my website today. I clicked on the photo and opened in a new window (or you can go to the media section and grab the link directly from there). Copy the link or URL (as highlighted in pink) for that photo.

Click WRITE POST
Add your title & text
Click on INSERT/EDIT IMAGE
*Paste the URL you copied from your site or social media site (see below image)
Write your description, size and tweak as you normally would
Click OKAY
VOILA! No uploading necessary - just a link to the photo, housed on one of your other sites and the photo is in your ActiveRain post!

No more heartache when we have this glitch...IF it happens again!

Hi Debe Maxwell, CRS - This is a great explanation for those who may feel very frustrated that the site is not working properly.

Sometimes I copy the code right from my blog on my website and move it to AR directly. I found this to be very helpful when I realized it was not me that had the issue.

It looks like a lot of people understand what you are saying but I am not one of them! If I want to use a picture I took when writing a post, the only place it sits is on my computer or camera, not on a website. I always use the uploader and now that it doesn't work, I am lost. I tried using a photo I put on Facebook , but that didn't work. Looks like my posts will be just text until I get this straight.

We seem to be back to having this same issue in September now so, hopefully this is good timing for a response! Sorry again!

Debe-Yes, I have still had problems this week, but they seem to be working on it. I rarely use pictures I have on FB. 99% of the time, they are just on my computer waiting to be downloaded to AR. Thanks for getting back to me!
