It was an epic in the making! Last year I contacted Kathy Streib about coming to Del Ray Beach while we were with family at Christmas in North Palm Beach and staying at our place in Jupiter but good things come to those who wait. Kathy who is a great organizer, she is a stager, got a group together and we went to Blaze Pizza at the suggestion of Donald Urschalitz who wanted it to try it. FYI, it is the second hottest new franchise in the country and talk about fast, it is like Subway but with pizza and good pizza for sure.
My wife and I brought Henri who goes everywhere with us to join a group and what a wonderful group this turned out to be. When we bought our condo in Jupiter and were looking for Rainers around us we not only did we discover kathy but also Elyse Berman, PA, CRS who now resides in DelRay also is is delightful. Also attending was Eileen Burns who once sent me a referral. it didn't work but no fault of either one of us, but that is how cyber friends work together and we are cyber no more. It was a pleasure to meet Mark Loewenberg who is one generous guy. Besides selling equestrian acreages in the area he also helps special needs children as well as their parents with soccer. I am going to contribute to his passion, HTTP://GardensTOPSoccer.com. If you want to do good why not support Mark's cause. His friend and new agent Neil Archer came and this former Brit is multitalented and is going to crush it. We plan to attend his British car and motorcycle show tomorrow morning. Cool dude.
What is wonderful about these meetups is seeing people for real and confirming they are real people who can talk about a lot of things other than real estate. After all this is not a seminar, it is a getting to know you that will resonate for me for many more years as My wife and I make the transition to be full time Floridians. We are also wanting to buy more property so someone like Kathy is who you want to know who has an eye for design. Donald has posted some great market reports so don't think that local reports are just for the locals. Even before Kathy and I started talking about a meetup, I had seen Donald's reports and they helped a lot. The jest of this is the real estate business is a wonderful career but the people in real estate are even better. It also keeps my faith in Active Rain. I know there has been a lot of bumps and bruises here and people coming in and out, but let's focus on the people in. The people who are in are The In Crowd who are up on the latest dances. Couldn't help the old fogies musical reference.
