Bernas comments about housing affordability was timely for those buyers looking to upgrade. yet are afraid that with home prices on the rise and increasing interest rates they may not qualify for as much home as they need. She suggests that serious buyers look towards Tooele County and can perhaps find more home on a larger lot for less money. Also she makes her pitch for 100% financing offered thru HUD.
The bidding wars post was an eye opener for many and Berna and Chris each had posts about a single listing they had that received over 20 showings and 10 offers in the first 40 hours it was active on the MLS. Multiple offers create a totally different set of problems for agents as well as sellers and so that makes this a worthwhile read.
The last article here is about down payments and the misconception among borrowers about how much is required to get a home mortgage.
This was a great opportunity for Berna to pitch the USDA rural housing loan we mentioned above that enables qualified buyers to get a mortgage with no money down… that’s right 100% financing. Tooele is one of the few places in the northern part of the state that still qualifies for these highly leveraged loans.
