Spring is Here, and so is the Carlsbad Village Spring Shop Hop

Spring arrived right on time in Carlsbad. Indeed, we had wonderful weather and lots of flowers well before the official date.

The hours have been extended at the weekly Farmers Market in Carlsbad Village now that daylight savings time is in place, so you can shop until 7 pm.

And Carlsbad Village is hosting the first Spring Shop Hop downtown this coming Saturday, April 22.

So what’s the Spring Shop Hop?

It’s your opportunity to spend some time in the afternoon and evening listening to live music, checking out the spring fashions and specials offered at your favorite retailers, and enjoying some wonderful food at our Carlsbad Village restaurants.

Here’s how the Carlsbad Village Spring Shop Hop works.

Check in at the Welcome Table at 4 pm by the fountain (at the corner of State Street and Grand Avenue) to grab the directory of all the retailers and restaurants that are participating. The first 100 to do so receive a free swag bag of goodies. While you are out dining and shopping, be sure to get your directory stamped by local merchants, then return the completed directory to the Welcome Table by 7 pm. There will be a drawing of some terrific Carlsbad Village prizes (e.g., $230 spa package, VISA gift card).

So mark your calendar for this Saturday to spend a few hours in Carlsbad Village at the Spring Shop Hop.

And maybe start your day with a free composting workshop at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation Discovery Center from 10 – noon as part of Earth Month in Carlsbad.
