Super Sleuth Anita Hart Fuller shared this picture with me because she said it was the home of her childhood friend Alice Anne O'Donell who lived at Griffithville AR, a small town several miles from Searcy AR.  This one is just a photograph of the original watercolor painting done by John E Keller, a very successful artist in Searcy.   Anita had it done and presented the original painting as a gift to her friend.  The date signed by Mr. Keller is 1993.

The question might be why?  Why did Anita commission this painting?  We have the answer to that question!  Anita has a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Fuller, who had Mr. Keller paint another house picture in 1989.  Let's look at it.  I had to take a snapshot of it from a picture on the wall so this picture is full of reflections and possible distortions but you can see the beauty of it.  Anita liked it so much that she asked Mr. Keller to do another one!  Ruth Ann, by-the-way, was a popular teacher in Searcy Schools for many years.  Check this blog about Ruth Ann which we did a few months ago.

Old Fuller house Pioneer Rd Searcy AR

Both of these houses are still standing.  The first one is located on the main street of Griffithville.  I think it would be nice to give the sleuths a chance to see if they know where this second house is located.  Definitely Searcy, definitely still lovely!  Anita's husband, Bob Fuller, even wrote a book about this one.  It is titled "Out the House."

Go, Sleuths, Go!

And John Keller, your work is beautiful!

The Fuller house was just south of Searcy on old Highway 67, now Pioneer Rd. (about 1002 Piomeer Road.) I jujst looked it up on Street View and it doesn't look like as big a house as I remember as a kid.

Mrs. Fuller was my second favorite teacher of all the teachers I had at Searcy.

The first as I have said before was Harold Gene Sullivan's mother.

I had Mrs. Fuller for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and French!

Greetings  from California. Just got here.

Tres bien, Don. (obviously I didn't have French with Mrs. Fuller, or ANYONE!)

Harold Gene, you are right.  It is now on Pioneer Road which used to be the main highway when the Fullers lived there.  Have you read the book?

Don, it is nice to remember some teachers so fondly.  Did we ever have a picture of Harold Gene's mother?

I will beat Harold Gene to the punch and post a pic of Mrs. Sam Sullivan from the time I first met her when she was my second grade teacher.

Thanks, Don.  I love the old black and white pictures and the old ones with dates on them like this one.  Where I grew up the school was too small for yearbooks but it had picture taking day with results like this one for all kids and teachers.

I think I'd better wait for Billy, Ruth Ann, or Bob to tell about this house. I was only in it a few times, IF that many! When we're together, they go on ad nauseum recalling the good old days at that house, with their cousins, aunts and uncles. Cheryl and I quietly leave the room; they don't even know we've gone.

No I haven't seen Bob's book. I'll have to try and look it up.

It isn't a published book, Gene. Just the first of several memoirs Bob has written....for family. This one is called "Out the House".....he just prints and has them bound.

Oh!  Yes, Anita, I remember now that you were not a part of the family until later!  And Bob has told ALL the stories, probably in his book.

Harold Gene, they could share that book with you, couldn't they?
