I just had the opportunity to sell a Chicago Greystone and thought this would make a great blog post. There are 30,000 Greystones located in Chicago and a majority of them are located in North Lawndale area of the City which is where I sold a Grestone to a buyer.
Greystones first appeared in the 1830's and are made from limestone.
There are typically two styles of Greystones. The first style is Romanesque with arches and cornices.
The second style is Neo-Classical featuring smoother blocks, bay windows. Grestones are such beautifully designed buildings as you can see from these two pictures
