Living Life and Being Happy
I have been in a very good mood lately. Don't know what is causing the upswing. Maybe it's the weather. Maybe it's my kids and grandkids. Maybe it's just because I know I won't live forever. There are things I've done in my life that have been awesome. There are also things in my life that have really not been good yet my life is my life because of them.
While I was researching (ha ha) online today, I came across this quote from one of the most incredible people in the world. Maya Angelou passed away in 2014. She was a lady among ladys and a leader among all. With her wonderfully soothing voice, she could tell an ice cube not to melt in the middle of the desert and it would say "yes maam!"
"You are the sum total of everything you've ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot - it's all there. Everything influences each of us, and because of that I try to make sure that my experiences are positive. "
Maya Angelou
Today as I was doing my research, it moved me to go to my children's pages online. My kids are all so smart and have married well with incredible kids and homes. I am so blessed in so many ways. Even when my Exotic Parrot is in the background swearing or hollaring for a cracker while I'm on the phone, I can't help but laugh and move to a quieter place. When my bulldog Gus, wants a walk or wants to play, I do. His enjoyment of life is a sight to behold.
I have been fortunate to travel to many places worldwide and to enjoy the company of my fellow travelers. My brothers are the people who keep me grounded (don't tell my kids that). But my life is as it should be.
I go to work and I'm happy. There are very few people in the world that can make it a bad day for me. I roll with the punches and understand that others may not be having the same type of day that I am. So skip the snarky comments and let it go. Just like the movie!!!
If you come to my house or come visit me in Cheyenne, you will see my personality in everthing I do and say. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my grandchildren. Sometimes I feel like I'm working to make money to spoil them. Each and every one of 20+ kids! I take lots of pictures, but with this many grandkids, it's hard to get everyone together at once. That might be the one thing I regret not having done yet.
This year I cut back a bit on my business to take advantage of life, people and travel. I really like the job, but I like the other things too. And as the saying goes, "you're not getting any younger." and "you can't take it with you when you go".
Here are some pictures from my grandkids when they were younger. I can't help but smile and wish we could go back sometimes. But every day is a grand day and they do something extra special every day.
