Nick & Trudy Vandekar Exact match domain names like "Los Angeles real estate" used to have a built-in advantage because Google applied a "relevance" bonus. They assumed if a website was called "los angeles real estate" that's exactly the kind of information you would find on the website. The bonus they gave was TOO big though. In many cases you would have a website with an exact match and little to no valuable content. Between 2012-2016 as Google was improving it's search algorithm they FIXED this problem by removing the bonus for the exact match. Some believe they actually penalize for it. That's why it's no longer as important. I am underemphasizing as well. It could be said it is important NOT to have an exact match domain.
