Speechless Sunday - enormous Agave Americana

Agave Americana in Kula Maui HI

Don't you just love the look of these plants?  This one was growing up in the higher elevations of Maui, in Kula, where it's usually dry and sunny.

Thanks for reading my Maui blog...

Hi Georgie,  Great pictures.  Looks like those plants get pretty large - apparently the sun must be good for them.  Thanks for sharing.

I have been a lot of places but not Hawaii yet. I need to come see this in person.

Good morning Georgie. I do love these. The look of a natural bow is so appealing.

Those are wonderful photos, Georgie. Because of our climate agaves grow well in our area, and even better in the desert. I have seen some enormous ones.

NIce photos, Georgie!  I can imagine most anything would grow in Hawaii.  I did wonder about tomatoes though.

Georgie, what gorgeous plants, and I think ours made it through the latest snowstorm over the weekend.    No broken branches on the trees either....whew!

Christine Kankowski North SD and Temecula That's a nice one!

Myrl Jeffcoat The large tomatoes are challenging (without spray) but cherry tomatoes do very well.  I'm just waiting for mine to ripen and then we'll be picking pounds of them every day.

Agaves are unknowns here in NC - at least here in the Piedmont region! I'm always amazed at the lush, green and blooming plants you have in Maui, Georgie - they're just gorgeous!

Those are some amazing agave plants, we saw many when we were in Aruba, but I don't think we saw any that big.
