One of the questions I get from our first-time home buyers is whether you can hear people on the second floor if you buy a first-floor condo. I suspect they have this vision of creaky floorboards or listening to heavy footsteps or loud voices, like maybe you'd get in an older apartment building. I suppose there is always a variance to this observation, but with newer construction, that noise is buffered and fairly non-existent.
I've never heard any disturbance or irritating sounds coming from the second floor of newer condominiums. Although I suppose a unit could be rented to a basketball player who likes to practice in the kitchen. Just kidding!! You can read more about my new listing of a single-level condo on the first floor in my personal blog today at this link: Luxury Condos in West Sacramento: New Listing from Elizabeth Weintraub.
