Springtime is the Season for Mexican Hat

Spring brings forth an abundance of Texas Wildflowers. Today I came upon the Mexican Hat in Highland Village near Flower Mound, TX and its petals were waving in the wind. It's such a cheery flower. They come in bright yellow or burnt orange. The first shot is the shot I got this morning about 11:00 a.m. It's in its pure and natural color - no editing at all.

Below is the same photo using the software Ribbet. In just a subtle change, I got a different result. All I did was give it a Mirrored Frame in the shade of blue I felt came closest to the color of the sky, I added a shadow with medium thickness and added my name in red to make it pop. I liked what the effect did to the edges of the flower's petals and felt it made the flower more pronounced than in the first shot.

Highland Village and Flower Mound are located in North Texas, known as the Prairies. I am wild about wildflowers because they come in such an array of different types, shapes, colors, and sizes. Their beauty lifts my spirt and always makes me smile. The beauty is in the joy it gives to me when I pass by a long and winding road or on the Interstate and I see them growing along the roadside. There are times when I wish I could pull over and smell the flowers and take photos too. But that would be too dangerous. This flower was growing in a neighborhood park off of Highland Village Road and I enjoyed this flower's company with many others that sprouted up along its side.

Patricia,  It is a subtle change yet we see the flower more and less of the tree in the background.  The red in your name does make it pop.  Nicely done.

Nature can give us the most awe inspiring and happy feelings, if we take time like you did to see what is right before us. Love your illustrations and yes the framing and putting your name does make it pop more. well done.
