It all began in the fall of 2015. I had a very nice listing and the popular Nashville HGTV show Listed Sisters contacted me to include my client's house as a possible home. I was assured the buyers had not purchased anything yet and there would be a potential sale. My clients were not crazy about being out of their house for an entire day for filming but agreed to be on the show.
I wrote about our experience here in a post titled, Listed Sisters Busted! HGTV Reality Show NOT So Real. Needless to say, the post has gotten a lot of traffic.
Fast forward to last week. I received a phone call from Franklin home buyers who are moving here from Illinois. Their house is under contract and they need to find something quickly.
I asked Mrs. Buyer how she'd found me; knowing full well it was through the internet. She said she'd Googled Listed Sisters. She had seen the HGTV show several times and thought maybe the sisters could help them find a house.
Interestingly, my ActiveRain post ranks on page one for that search term. Below is a screen shot of the Google rankings. The search I performed was Incognito so as not to taint the results. As you can see, my ActiveRain post is ranked #4 on page one in the Google SERPs.
After reading my post, Mrs. Buyer thought I would be a better choice.
We are meeting Friday morning to view several homes. If all goes well, we will be under contract by Saturday. All because I wrote about my experience with a popular Nashville HGTV show right here. Never underestimate the power of ActiveRain. Little did I know when I wrote the post that a buyer might decide to hire me as a result.
Who'da thunk that I would rank on page one for that search term?
It just goes to show the effectiveness of blogging. While the post has been read 9,928 times, this is the first time a buyer has told me that's how she found me. It took almost 10,000 clicks and a year before the phone rang. Don't think that blogging will get you instantaneous results. Write good content and be patient. That content will work on your behalf for years.
The buyers Googled a popular Nashville HGTV show and found me instead. I couldn't be happier.
