I typically am not the one to write negative reviews, but our experience with this property over the course of over the last year has been a nightmare and just wanted to make sure anyone considering staying there was aware of what they may be getting into.
The first issue we ran into was there were several leaks during the course of a year. Each time the leak happened and we called the owner she would tell us to take care of it. If we did not eventually she would take care of it, but in one instance they put the washer and dryer in the middle of the living room and left it there for weeks with no one showing up to repair. Every time we called to ask if they could get the job done so we could get the place back in order she would say "If you want, you can just move out." Obviously that is a poor response on several levels. Once you have moved all your stuff in it is not easy to just move out. This leak situation happened on two occassions.
The second issue we had was at the end of the year she increased the rent a substantial amount with limited notice. It was what it was, but we didn't have much choice as it took a while to find another place.
The third issue was we were scheduled to move out at the end of the month, but she was going to be on vacation and could not inspect the place and get our deposit back in time so we agreed with her in writing to get out of there early so she would have time to inspect and then reimburse us the remaining rent for the month. We specifically told her we would stay until the end of the month of we would not get reimbursed the rent and she said she would. Once we were moved out she said only if she found someone to move in she would refund the rent.
Last, it is an older property so stuff does goes wrong. Every time something went wrong it was a nightmare getting anything done. Between these few issues above we have had to write hundreds of emails to deal with stuff.
