The days are getting longer, the kids will be out of school soon, and the temperatures are finally getting warmer and warmer. What better way to handle those three events than by taking a cooling dip in the community pool?
Wallingford’s Community Pool will open on June 17th until August 13th and will be open from 11am to 7pm each day.
Pool passes for adults are $20, $15 for youths between 13 and 17, and $10 for children 12 and under and also for seniors 63 and older. Also, non-residents can once again get pool passes this year. A Wallingford resident must sponsor a non-resident and accompany them to purchase a pass. There will be two forms of non-resident passes: a Two Week Pass that will be dated and cost $25.00 per person, and a Season Pass that will cost $50.00 per person. (There is a $20.00 replacement fee for all lost tags. Children 15 and under are required to have an adult present with them at the pool.)
Passes are now available and can be purchased at the Wallingford Parks and Recreation Department located at 6 Fairfield Boulevard. Their office hours are currently Monday through Sunday 9am to 9:45pm; beginning in June they will close at 5pm on Saturday and be closed on Sundays. Proof of residency – driver’s license, report card or school ID – is required. If you purchased a pass last year you can take it to the Parks and Rec office and they will put a 2017 sticker on it so you don't have to have a new picture taken!
Don't let the summer heat and humidity get you down this year, head down to the community pool and stay cool this summer!
