West Sac Police Tell Agent to Cancel Listing

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

west sacramento police

I've only been teargassed once in my life, and that was in 1969 at the March on Washington. Since then, I haven't really encountered strong arm tactics or even interacted with the police much. But I had forgotten how the police sometimes rely upon intimidation and threats, yelling and screaming and such.

It was a little bit like being in a TV show, but not as visually creepy as, say, American Gods where they stuff climaxing people up your hooha. Of course, you can read more about the story in my personal blog today at this link: West Sacramento Police Demanded Listing Agent Stop Selling House.

Good morning, Elizabeth -- well, this journey made for an interesting story and I'm glad it resulted in a sale and not another sad statistic.

Beth Atalay I suspect the seller had pretty much forgotten about the property.

Michael Jacobs In this market, there is often not a reason to go to foreclosure anymore. Most people have equity.

The only thing I have that comes close is an FBI Agent wanting to attend a settlement for a fraudulent deal.  I had reported the seller, the buyer hired an attorney and the settlement never consummated.

Good for you for proactively reaching back out to the seller when you saw the pre-foreclosure status.  She's lucky she called you in the first place.

That is an astonishing story, Elizabeth!  When you mentioned that the policeman's wife was an agent, I was almost certain the property would have been re-listed with his wife!

CONGRATULATIONS Elizabeth, on having this blog FEATURED in the Old Farts Club group!  Great post, especially the part about your being teargassed in 1969 at the March on Washington!  That was one of two events I missed in life that I wish I had on my resume.  The other is Woodstock.  But, in 1969 I was too busy washing diapers!

Hi Elizabeth.... I'm sitting here with my jaw on my knees after reading this story! Crikey! BTW, I remember those days of 1969 well as I was graduating from George Washington University then and lived just two blocks from Foggy Bottom and a couple of minutes walk from the White House. The smell of tear gas was frequently in the air that spring.

Quite a story. Have not heard of cops telling you to cancel your listing. Thank heavens he didn't taze you. That's not a pretty sight.

Elizabeth,

We cut cable and rarely watch TV except for live event such as tennis, and basketball.  We spend a lot of time in the great outdoors, and read a lot,  A

Nina Hollander It is one of the most innovative shows I've seen on TV lately. It's about present day intertwined with the old and new Gods that Americans worship. Fairly graphic, though. I heard there were a few scenes from the book such as the ones described above, that generated a lot of buzz due to how would you film it? But they've done an impressive job. It stars Ian McShane.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel Well, you could read the book. But that might make you want to watch the series to see how they did it. :) It's on Starz, which we had to subscribe to.
