Bring On Your Photos!!!

Activerain has exorcised the demons!  The photo upload issues that have caused so much stress for so many for such a long issue has been taken care of.  If you haven't been able to post photos recently, either in the form of uploading new photos to your editor OR trying to use the 'featured photo' I have exorcised the demonsfeature, if you clear your browser cache and try again today, you should be relieved.

My recent blog about my trip to Channel Islands was screaming for some photo love, and I just did a test to see if the photos were working - voila!  My post now looks much better and people can see what I saw on the trip.

A huge thank you to AR support, Bob Stewart , and the Ben Kinney companies, all of whom put up with many emails, facebook messages, phone calls, texts, rants, raves, and other forms of nonsense that come about when the ActiveRain natives get restless.  Though it's frustrating, you can rest assured that the team behind the scenes works hard to keep things running and running smoothly.  For them, it's one thing to know there's a problem, but another to recreate it - and then figure out if it's coding, a certain device, a certain browser, or a certain feature that's causing the issue.  Unfortunately, that takes time, but I'm thankful to have them diligently helping make AR the platform it is.

Well done AR team.  Now us bloggers can take a breath, step back from the ledge, and get back to creating beautiful content.  AR has exorcised the demons.

Now Bring on the Photos!

It's such good news for us all, John. It really has gotten pretty frustrating, and especially for new people who might think they are doing something wrong!

Hi John - That's great news, especially since there's only 6 days left for the AR photo editing contest. Thanks for the heads-up!

Really sorry guys. This was a temporary fix that we've made like 5 or 6 times already. We have one developer who is strictly looking at a long term fix to once and for all crush this stupid image issue!! (the error message on this one haunts my dream......or when your dreams are haunted....are they still dreams? Or something else?)

Ben has been in and out of this poor devs office all day asking if he has the long term fix yet. With that kind of pressure, I hope it's in place really soon. :-)

John looks like from Bobs comment above they are putting the pressure on the right people to get this issue resolved once and for all.  I can deal with the issue as long as I know it is a priority.

Bob Stewart - Perhaps the developer only "knows" how to do temporary fixes, to guarantee themself continued work!

Perhaps the thing to do is copy the code in its current working condition, back it up to use again should things go awry.  If I was a bettin' gal, I'd say that what is happening, is they periodically are corrupting the site, with an old corrupted backup that has the past errors on it.

Good morning John. I am grateful too but really disappointed that it took this long without any explanation up front.

I will now have to go back to put in pictures I was going to include. It took them long enough to get in a simple fix.

Funny how important photos have become to us all here on the Rain, John Meussner ... when things are working we don't give the process of attaching them much thought!  But have a disruption???  Watch out ...

For our sake and AR's I hope this fix lasts forever ... whew!
