Happy Memorial Day - Please Remember those who gave their lives for our Country
The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday May 27, and Tuesday, May 30 mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine. All the fruits and vegetables are available at great prices. So good! Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits, vegetables and flowers. The market is on Webster Street and Haight Avenue and is open rain or shine.
Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid food trucks will be at South Shore on Saturday, May 27, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot in front of Petco.
The Meyer’s House and Garden will be open on Saturday, May 27 at 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The gorgeous colonial revival was built in 1897 for the prominent Alameda architect, Henry H. Meyers. Mr. Meyers designed many building and churches, schools and the Posey Tube Portal of the Webster Tube. The Meyer’s House and Garden is located at 2021 Alameda Avenue in Alameda. This house is a must see for Alamedans to discover what living in Alameda in the early 20th Century was like. Free for members and for non-members there is $5.00 fee.
Crab Cove for Family Nature Fun Hour for “Memorial Day Memories” where you will learn to fold a flag, tie a knot and make a flower to put on the Merchant Mariners memorial and more, on Saturday, May 27, at 2:00 pm, then see what is going on at the Visitor’s Center. Crab Cove is located at 1252 McKay Avenue. Please call 510-544-3187 for more information.
Sunday Stroll, Sunday, May 28 at 10 am to Noon. Take a guided walk along the Bay Trail from Crab Cove to the USS Hornet. Families and dogs welcome, free to the public. Beginning point is the Crab Cove Visitors Center.
Memorial Day Ceremony, Monday, May 29 at 11:00 am. Hosted by Alameda based veterans groups at Veterans Memorial Park at Doolittle and Island Drive. Please call 510-865-6372 for more information.
