Middlebury
Ceremony honors military Sunday
The Middlebury Lions Club will host a ceremony in honor of our nation’s military at noon on Sunday at Middlebury Cemetery, Route 64. The community is invited.
In the morning on Saturday, the Lions Club will place flags at the grave sites of every Middlebury veteran.

Waterbury
Parade Sunday downtown
Memorial Day ceremonies will begin with a parade through the downtown Sunday Local bands, Boy Scouts, the Knights of Columbus and others in the parade will start marching from Freight Street at 1 p.m. The parade will head up Meadow Street to West Main Street, march past the Green, hook onto Bank Street, then turn onto Grand Street and finish at the intersection with Meadow Street by Library Park.
A reviewing stand will be set up at City Hall.
After the parade, beginning promptly at 2 p.m., a ceremony will be held in front of the new World War I monument on Meadow Steet. Meadow Street will remain closed to traffic for the service, involving patriotic music, placing of wreaths, dedication of additional memorial plaques for Italian Americans killed in World War I and Jewish service members from the war, among others.
Woodbury
Parade starts at middle school
Woodbury’s Memorial Day parade will be held on Sunday, rain or shine. Line up time is 1 p.m. in the Woodbury Middle School parking lot. The parade will begin at 2 p.m.
The parade route will follow Church Street to Route 6, straight on Route 6 to Cannon Green where the ceremony will take place.

Cheshire
Parade Sunday if weather permits
The town will hold its Memorial Day parade on Sunday with a rain date of June 4. The parade will step off at 1:30 p.m. at Highland School on Highland Avenue and head south on Route 10 to Cheshire High School.

The Memorial Day Parade is cosponsored by the Town of Cheshire and the Veterans Council of Cheshire.
Watertown
March to begin at 10 a.m. Monday
The Watertown Memorial Day parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Watertown Plaza, 1141 Main St. (Route 63), and proceed to the Watertown gazebo.

Prospect
Parade starts at Prospect Green
Prospect’s Memorial Day Parade will start at the Prospect Green at 12:15 p.m. Monday.
Watertown
WWII monument will be dedicated
The World War II monument across from the Watertown gazebo will be officially dedicated at 11 a.m. on Monday at the conclusion of the Memorial Day Parade.
Those who resided in Watertown/Oakville at the time they enlisted were eligible to be included on the bronze name plaques.
Those who have loved ones who served our country but might not have been qualified to be included on the plaques have an option of engraved brick pavers. The engraved pavers will be installed near the base of the monument.

Wolcott
Monday’s parade starts at 6 p.m.
WOLCOTT – Wolcott’s Memorial Day Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday from St. Pius Church on Woodtick Road.
Naugatuck
B-25 flyover, last Doolittle Raider
The Naugatuck Memorial Day parade steps off at 9:15 a.m. on Monday from the vicinity of North Main and Woodbine Streets in the Union City section of town. The event will include a flyover of a World War II B-25 bomber. Lt. Colonel Richard Cole, age 101, the last surviving member of the original 80-man Doolittle Tokyo Raiders fight crew, will lay a memorial wreath at the ceremony in honor of his fellow flyers.

Southbury
March Monday on Main St. South
The Southbury Memorial Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the Pomperaug Office Park and continue down Main Street South to the Memorial Green for services honoring those who served our country. Main Street South between Depot Hill Road and the Senior Center will be closed to traffic during the parade.
The Southbury Memorial Day Family Day Picnic will be noon at Ballantine Park. Activities, including DJ, food, face painting, and entertainment and games will begin at 12:30. The town pool will be open from noon to 4 p.m. at no charge.
