Monday, May 29, 2017 - the day we commemorate Memorial Day

Join veterans, families and the community of San Francisco for the annual Memorial Day commemoration in the Presidio.

National cemetery, SF Presidio

Schedule of events:

10:30 am - Grand March - Presidio Officers' Club, 50 Moraga Avenue
11:00 am - program with military dignitaries, guest speakers and music - National Cemetery at the Presidio
Noon - 21-gun salute by the US Army's Pacific Training Division - Pershing Square, Main Post

After the ceremony, join a guided tour of the cemetery, enjoy a community picnic at the main parade grounds (bring a picnic or purchase food on site) complete with music, children's activities and more.

Lottie - this is a good way to remember. Our American Legion decorates the gaves. We have some going back to the Revolutionary War.

Grant Schneider - the graves here don't go back that far; I know a number of soldiers fought in the Spanish-American war, in the late 1890's.
