8715 Glider Ave Westchester, CA. 90045! For Sale: Before and After Photos

 No, it is not what you think! I am sure you were expecting to see a very bad picture of an old home and then a totally redone photo of a new home in the hip cool and trendy Westchester, CA 90045.

The reality is, I just listed a home in the highly desirable 90045 zip code. The property has not been shown yet to anyone, this is since the previous occupant had so much “stuff” … the Executor and I felt, we would do a disservice to all, if we attempted to show it or take pictures of the inside of this home.

Hence, I only took a couple outside photos, normally I procure the services of a professional photographer and we end up doing a virtual tour as well as floorplans of the home. In this instance, we are not at that point. In the meantime, I did want to take advantage of the hot spring real estate selling market the 9045-zip code and start the initial marketing.

Just about the same time our friend Dick Greenberg     decided to challenge us in trying to improve our photography skills and show everyone how to improve the pictures.

In fairness to disclosure I am not a fan of “over doctoring photos”, because the reality is if I “over doctor” the picture like I have seen some in my area, people just get annoyed.

Hence these pictures will appear virtually identical with some very minor adjustments such as cropping and adding a bit of sharpness and focus. Let me know what you think? Also see if you can find the "undoctored photo"?:)

Hi Endre, I looked..carefully looked, looked again, can't tell the difference. I'm not a fan of doctoring photos either, I leave that to the professionals.

Hi Endre --- I can see a subtle cropping difference --- I'm sure the behind-the-scenes work will definitely make a big difference when this home hits the market. By the way did you see the neighorhood feature on Westchester in the Saturday edition of the Los Angeles Times?

Definitely a nice home from the outside and in a great area. Best of luck with a smooth sale. I actually am a photo enhancer, well the photographer I use is. It surely gets them sold but overall I do it mainy for my marketing purposes.

Hi Endre, 

This is a great contest to test our skills. A lot of pros make adjustments right in their cameras.  My husband shoots raw and edits each picture in post processing. Most pics look a lot different because of the raw format.

Endre you are right there is very little difference the the picture of the house, but there more of an improvement in the bushes.

The third one is cropped just a little but the other two look pretty much the same.  The house number on #2 is a little sharper.

I think the last photo is the original, only because it appears to have been cropped in the foreground. It's a toughie determining the difference. What else did you do??
